Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor Review

September 8, 2016 by Jenni

PR Sample

Lucas was recently sent a Fisher Price Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor train set to review*. Annoyingly, I don’t have any photos of Lucas playing with it as he is going through a phase of as soon as he sees a camera he wants to take the photos and he moves that quick that he is a blur on my phone camera.

Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor, Cranky is green with a grey barrell and brown track

The set comes with instructions but you can easily see how to set it up by looking at the picture on the box.

We really like this set, Thomas’ eyes and mouth move and Thomas goes on his own whilst chatting and making sound effects.

Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor, Thomas is a Tidmouth sheds

There are 3 buttons on the top of Thomas to press and he automatically knows where to travel. The yellow button send him to Tidmouth Sheds. Once Thomas arrives there he talks to Percy, James, Gordon, and Sir Topham Hatt. The green button sends Thomas over to Brendham Docks where Thomas interacts with Cranky. You can also manually load and unload cargo whilst here. The blue button takes Thomas around the track, to stop him you press the blue button again.

Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor. The full figure eight track with Thomas at Tidmouth sheds and cranky in the distance at the docks

There are over 50 sounds and phrases from Thomas and his friends. The set comes with a cargo car, 2 barrels, the track, Tidmouth Sheds, Brendham Docks and obviously Thomas. It retails at £39.99.

I love that the buttons are colour co-ordinated with their destinations, supporting Lucas to recognise the colours and match where it will take Thomas. Thomas works really well on the track and off, giving hours of imaginative play x

My son used to love Thomas the Tank engine, in fact I thought he would never grow out of it. This looks a brilliant set, any Thomas fan would love it

Every time I see Thomas the Tank engine train sets it brings me back to memories of T as a toddler. She loved them! And this looks like something she would’ve loved at that age too 🙂

I love the colours of this track!! We have had a few thomas travks and they have always been really dull coloured and not very fun! This however sounds great!
