Love2Read are books personalised to the child to encourage their love of reading from an early age. By personalising the books using photos of familiar people, items and themselves they can begin to associate simple words with the pictures.
The key words in each book are known as high frequency words which are some of the first words your child will be taught to recognise when they start school. As they start to recognise these key words on sight (also know as the ‘look and say’ method of learning) their confidence builds.’
I had originally planned on making D a book for Fathers Day from Lucas but the only photos I have on my laptop are from our holiday so I made Lucas a book about his first holiday abroad instead.
The website was easy to navigate and there are so many books to choose from including birthdays, Christmas, Daddy, Mummy, holiday and so many more. Once I had decided on the book I clicked into it and started to put the photos in and text where the text boxes were. It is very simple to do and doesn’t take long.
It is £14.99 for a book but the more you buy, the cheaper it becomes per book. They are great quality for kids, Lucas likes to rip paper up but this book is strong enough to withstand a rough toddler. He really enjoys looking through it, giggling at the photos. He is too young to read yet but having books around him from a young age is very important to me. I also think it is a fab way of keeping hold of memories and for him to look back on.
My only criticism of the website is that you can’t make books on an iPad. Delivery was super quick, I created the book on Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday.
