If you’re hosting a party or event, there are a lot of things to consider from food and drinks to music and decorations. Giving away goody bags or party favors is a great way to make your guests feel special and ensure your party is memorable. These little mementos are memorable souvenirs your guests can take home as a keepsake from your special day.
Whether it’s a dinner party, a wedding, or a child’s birthday, choosing the right gifts can sometimes be tricky. Gareth Parkin, CEO and Founder of GoPromotional has shared with us some of his top tips for choosing the right goodies for your next party or event.
Know Your Budget
Choosing the right goodies can be just as important as choosing the food or decor, so you don’t want it to be an afterthought. It’s important to include your goody bags in your initial planning and budget. Choose items that won’t break the bank but are quality items your guests will appreciate.
Know Your Guests
Think about who your guests are and choose age-appropriate goodies accordingly. For example, if many of your guests are kids, you likely wouldn’t choose a bottle opener as a giveaway. If the ages of your guests are a mix of children and adults, you may want to consider getting separate goodies for each group.
Consider Practical Items
When choosing a goody for your party, opt for practical items that your guests can use beyond the event. Practical items like reusable water bottles, tote bags, or custom pens can be appreciated and used in daily life.
Customised Goodies
Customising and personalising your party souvenirs is a great way to make your party memorable or ensure your guests feel special and valuable. If you’re choosing gifts for a wedding party where you only need a few gifts, you can easily personalize the gifts for each person. Alternatively, if these goodies are for a lot of people, you can put the date or location of the event to serve as a memory whenever they see the souvenir.
Another way to customise the gift is to make it relevant to the theme of the event. For example, if it’s a business event you might choose a customised pen while you may opt for a promotional toiletry bag for an event held out of town. Similarly, it’s important to take into consideration the season when choosing goodies. For example, in hot weather, chocolates or items that may melt might not be the best choice.
Always get a few extra
If you anticipate 50 guests, make sure to order more than 50 items. It’s better to have a surplus rather than deal with upset or disappointed guests who don’t receive a goody bag. You’ll also want to prepare for the event ahead by assigning a reliable individual to oversee the distribution, ensuring a fair and even distribution among all guests.
Remember that the goal is to create a memorable and joyful experience for your guests. By putting thought into your choices, you can be sure that the goodies complement your event’s overall theme and atmosphere.
