Ways to Make Your Child Feel Extra Special On Their Birthday

November 29, 2021 by Jenni

If your child has a birthday coming up, you will want to do all that you can to make it a special and memorable occasion for them. A birthday is always a special occasion as a kid, but what can you do to make it that little bit extra special this year? Read on for a few ideas.

Wake Them Up Singing Happy Birthday

What better way to start their day than singing “happy birthday” to them? This will get them in the mood for an enjoyable day off the bat.

Plan Fun Activities

As their special day, you should have a few activities planned that they have chosen whether this is playing in the garden, going to the park, playing games or having a party (or all of the above!).

Outdoor garden party

If you have an outdoor garden big enough to decorate your place with customized yard inflatables, then you can have a memorable and fun party. You can get customized yard inflatables in different shapes and sizes which will perfectly fit your party theme. They are usually made of PVC or vinyl. Some of the popular customized yard inflatables include bounce houses, waterslides, etc. You can choose the one that best suits your needs. They are safe for children and adults alike. They are also very easy to set up and take down. You can use them for any event, whether it is a birthday party, graduation party, or any other special occasion.

School Surprise

If they are at school on their birthday, you could turn up at lunchtime armed with cake and sweets for their entire class to enjoy. This will surely lift their spirits and increase their popularity! Obviously check with the school first. Lucas’ school bakes a cake ready for birthdays ahead and the birthday child always takes bags of sweets in to share with the class.

A Memorable Birthday Card

You will want to buy a birthday card that will be treasured for years to come so you should find one that is nice, funny or thoughtful and write a heartfelt message inside. Be sure to collect these over the years so that they can look back through them when they are older.

Let Them Decorate Their Cake

No birthday is complete without a tasty cake, but you could make it extra special this year by allowing them to decorate their own cake which will give them a chance to be creative.

Gift Treasure Hunt

Presents are, obviously, a central component of any child’s birthday. To make this year a little bit more memorable, you could design a gift treasure hunt to make it more exciting and fun. To add an extra touch of adventure to the gift treasure hunt, consider providing your child with a decorative pirate hat and a treasure map, creating a real-life treasure-seeking experience. This playful twist will make their birthday celebration exceptional and exciting.

Decorate With Pictures

A thoughtful idea is to decorate your home with photographs of your child, family and friends over the years. This will make the day much more memorable and can also be a great conversation starter if you are inviting friends and family over.

Fill the Room With Balloons

Balloons are always a cheap, easy and effective way to decorate and create a joyous atmosphere in the home. Lucas loves getting balloons for every occasion!

Give Them Hugs & Kisses

You should also be sure to give them plenty of hugs and kisses throughout the day so that they feel the love. There will come a time where they will find this embarrassing, so make the most out of it while you can!

Give Them a Birthday Crown

A birthday crown or tiara that they can wear all day long will help them to feel important and special, plus it can also make the day more fun and enjoyable – remember to take lots of photos!

These are just some ways that you can make this birthday that little bit extra special for your child this year.
