A couple of weeks ago we spent the day at Blackpool Tower. Whilst we were there, we had Afternoon Tea in the Tower Ballroom for our dinner. I absolutely love the ballroom so I was so happy to be invited* to try the afternoon tea.
Dating back to 1894, the ballroom is world famous for its unique sprung dance floor and spectacular architecture.
When we arrived in the ballroom we were greeted by a waiter who showed us to our table. We then had a waitress come over who explained that for the afternoon tea bookings we had the table for 90 minutes and if we needed any drinks topping up or any assistance, we should call her. She asked what we wanted to drink and if we had any dietary requirements.
Zoe and I went for tea, Chanel had a chocolate milkshake and Lucas strawberry milkshake. The tables were set out beautifully and the crockery very elegant. We watched people dance whilst we waited for our food and the Wurlitzer was played.
It was such a lovely atmosphere and really nice to watch the couples dancing in their smart clothes and the children with grandparents also dancing.
The food was served on 2 afternoon tea stands, one for Zoe and I and one for Chanel and Lucas. Zoe and I had a selection of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and 4 different types of cakes including fruit pastries, chocolate and plain sponge which we liked as we halved them all which gave us an incredible selection while relaxing and taking in the dancing and breathtaking decor of the ballroom.
Lucas and Chanel had a selection of sandwiches as well as crisps, chocolate cake, chocolate biscuits and marshmallows.
The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. I couldn’t fault the whole experience of afternoon tea in the ballroom at all and would definitely recommend it x

I went here as a child. It always felt glamorous to go to the tower in Blackpool. It’s a great idea that they do an afternoon tea for children too

That sure is a different idea for an afternoon tea setting. I love the look of the ballroom – not had an afternoon tea in one of those I normally have mine in hotels. It’s nice to try new things.

I used to live in Blackpool – so right off the bat, this is awesome. I never, ever went to the tower for afternoon tea, though. We’re going back next year so I might just have to book us in! It’s such a gorgeous ballroom, isn’t it?
