Lucas turned one on Monday and we combined his birthday party with his Christening on Sunday.
The Christening went well apart from the vicar taking his dummy out of his mouth to baptise him, not sure why he needed to do that but Lucas wasn’t impressed and cried through his baptism before being paraded around church as a red crying blob of a baby. Up to two weeks ago, Lucas could take or leave his dummy but this past couple of weeks he seems to be relying on it more but he also has his first teeth popping through now so maybe it is soothing his gums.
Lucas wore a shirt and trouser set from Next with braces and a bow tie. If you are looking for something more traditional, I’ve seen some beautiful outfits by Just Christening. I wore a silk dress from Monsoon. I made up party bags and we hired some soft play toys to go in a local function room.
Lucas really enjoyed seeing all of our family and friends at his party and had more of a chilled out day on his birthday. He went for his last ‘watch me grow’ photography session on Tuesday. I can’t wait to see the photos, he had some natural ones taken before some with a cake, balloons and party hats and then some bubble bath ones.
I bought Lucas’ Godmother a keyring with his footprints and handprint on from the same place I bought my handprint necklace. The quality is incredible once again from Bella and Bow and it is actually on sale at the moment, depending on their cut off dates it would make a lovely Mothers Day gift.
