Living in France, we have seen lots more tourists around at the moment due to travel measures being relaxed and holiday makers wanting to continue a bit a normality after worldwide lockdowns. It’s been lovely seeing people enjoying themselves safely whilst shops and holidays parks have been taking extra precautions to ensure families feel safe to travel. We had a short glamping holiday last month which was lovely but I’m looking forward to a trip we have booked next Summer with Al Fresco holidays.

Al Fresco parks are open throughout France now if you want to book for next year or squeeze in a holiday this year. They have made a number of changes to how they operate to keep their guests and teams as safe as possible. Government advice is changing all the time, and they will continue to keep up to date with the latest guidelines.

Al Fresco holiday parks are throughout Europe and offer high quality mobile homes situated in parks full of everything you need to entertain the family. The mobile homes provide outdoor living at its best, with all models offering a modern fully equipped kitchen, seating and dining areas, 2/3 bedrooms, 1 or 2 shower rooms, a decking area, barbeque (where permitted), outdoor table, and chairs.

France is a country full of vivid contrasts, with every region packed full of distinct character, where thrill seekers, culture vultures and those pining for something altogether laid-back can find plenty to offer here. Al Fresco have over 20 parks throughout France so you have plenty of choice!

Al fresco holiday park in dordogne

We are planning to visit Saint Avit Loisirs which is a beautiful spacious holiday park sitting in the Dordogne countryside in the South West of France. Close to picturesque towns such at Le Bugue and Sarlat, it is the perfect location for exploring Dordogne’s historic and culinary heritage. This friendly park has a family feel with plenty or sporty, fun activities to keep everyone entertained – including a dazzling array of indoor and outdoor pools for hours of water based fun. Even though we live in the Dordogne, this park is still 90 mins away from us so we can explore some places we haven’t yet and I have been wanting to visit Sarlat for ages. I love that this park includes complimentary Super Fun Station kids clubs too for Lucas to have some fun without us and make some friends.

Al fresco holiday park Britanny

If you are looking for somewhere further North and a quicker drive from the UK, I really like the look of this one in Brittany. Des Menhirs is a lively and popular park, with the resort of Carnac plage conveniently close to hand, offering a wide choice of bars, restaurants and shops, along with the beach where water sports and sand yachting are popular for adults to unwind. With a superb entertainment area as well as a lively bar this park really does offer something for all of the family. Further afield, excursions to Quiberon or Auray evening market will always offer great local flavour.

Al fresco holiday park Loire

D has incredible memories of visiting the Loire Valley when he was younger and would love to take Lucas to see the chateau’s one day. The Les Alicourts in Loire has a fantastic water complex with children’s pool and two large water slides for all those who like to make a splash on holiday! With a crèche for toddlers and Kids Clubs including one for teenagers, the whole family will be more than occupied at this park. This spacious park has its own lake with a sandy beach, due to its location in a lovely peaceful forest the park is also perfect for cycling and hiking. It also has an indoor spa if you really want to treat yourself!

French Riviera holiday park

If you fancy visiting the Côte d’Azur, a beautiful holiday oasis with a Hollywood style pool complex, Esterel offers 7 water slides, a sunbathing area and solarium, and the fantastic Blue Lagoon poolside bar. With a great atmosphere and amazing views, Esterel is in the ideal location for discovering the French Riviera, and offers entertainment for kids of all ages, from babies through to a teens club. Kids will find plenty to do with a games room, mini-club, themed entertainment, and a disco.
