Spitroast, Liverpool review

PR Sample

A couple of weeks ago we were invited* to Spitroast on Smithdown Road in Liverpool. Spitroast have two restaurants and the other one is situated in Crosby.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Lucas sat colouring

Spitroast believe in providing great quality food at affordable prices that can be enjoyed by all ages. They source their produce as local as possible and as seasonably as they can to ensure supporting the local community. Their products are organic as much as they can and their poultry is free range.

Spitroast, Liverpool review

As you walk in there is a beautiful marble bar to the right and seating area to the left, as you walk through the seating area you can see the open kitchen. I am a big fan of open kitchens as you know exactly how clean everything is and I like it when chefs don’t mind you seeing them preparing and cooking the food.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Hummus and flatbread pieces

Once we were seated we were given menus and Lucas was asked if he wanted to colour and was brought some felt tips and a colouring book over.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Chicken wrap and chips

We ordered warm wholemeal flatbreads with hummus to start and then D had chicken stir fry, I had spicy chicken pasta and Lucas had the children’s chicken wrap.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Chicken stir fry

D’s stir fry came with rice noodles and consisted of chicken, pak choi, peppers, carrot and spring onions in a sticky sweet chilli and soy sauce. He absolutely loved it and I had a little taste too, it was delicious.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Chicken pasta

My spicy chicken pasta really was spicy haha and I’m glad I didn’t pick one of the dishes with two flames next to it, as this only had one flame and it was a bit too spicy for me to handle. The flavours where delicious in it though and it consisted of chicken, linguini, Mediterranean vegetables, chilli and tomato sauce topped with feta cheese.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Chocolate cheesecake

Lucas’ wrap was very child friendly, containing only chicken, lettuce and mayonnaise which is perfect for him and served with plain chips. Lucas loved it.

For desert we all shared a Nutella cheesecake and a warm chocolate sponge with pouring cream. Both were absolute taste sensations.

Spitroast, Liverpool review Melting chocolate cake

Although Spitroast specialise in chicken, most of their dishes can be adapted to make it vegetarian or vegan so if you do have a veggie in the group, don’t feel like this isn’t a restaurant you can visit. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating and that’s the beauty of visiting somewhere that makes everything from fresh, they can adapt easily for your tastes or any dietary needs.

If you are in Liverpool often, also check out Wheelers, Sapporo Teppanyaki and Liberte
