My pamper day with Bio Sculpture

Last Friday I was invited to London by Renew Beauty for a bit of a pamper day. They decided a few Mum bloggers deserved a bit of time out and I was very lucky to be one of them.

They used a suite in The Mondrian to give us a gel manicure and it was a stunning location. I was sat by the window at the side of the River Thames with fab views. Whilst my therapist, Courtney, gave me the manicure she gave me a bit of background information about Bio Sculpture as it wasn’t a brand I knew a lot about. The director (and son of the founder) also popped in to say hi with his adorable 18 month old son and wife who was due to give birth to their second child any day!

Bio Sculpture started in 1988 by Elmein in South Africa who couldn’t find any premium nail polishes that didn’t damage the natural nail. She took it upon herself to create one, consulting with the best scientists in their respective fields and applying the latest technologies available.

Bio Sculpture has over 200 colours and all of their gels last approximately 3 weeks and soak off without damaging the nail. The nails don’t require dehydration before an application or any excess buffing, it is also free of bonders and primers unlike most gel nail polishes. Bio Sculpture gels are strictly animal cruelty free and vegan. Before putting on the gel, the therapist puts on a base suited to your nail type which ensures the natural nails are being nourished whilst the colour is on, this could be a layer of vitamins or an oxygenating base.

I chose ‘Bright Summer Pink’ to cheer up a gloomy February and the colour is stunning. What I really love about the gel is that it dries so quickly under the lamp, there is no hanging around which is perfect for busy Mums at home. The products are also odourless so it doesn’t leave that lingering chemical smell and it’s safe to use around the little ones. I actually love it that much that I am going to do their 3 day course to become a qualified Bio Sculpture therapist!

After my manicure, I was taken down to the spa area of The Mondrian. Well, it was like stepping into heaven. It was complete bliss. There is an incredible relaxation room with beds or seats to sit in, drinks and magazines to read. After a lemon tea, my beauty therapist in London came to collect me for a massage. She discussed whether I would like to be relaxed or refreshed after the massage and mixed oils to reflect this. Using massage techniques and warm towels, I really felt like she had worked her magic, I could do with seeing her more often though as she said I have a very stressed back! Following my massage, I relaxed in the relaxation room on the bed with a quilt over me which was a perfect way to finish.

I was then taken to the private dining area with the other bloggers where we were treated to an immense afternoon tea. I would like to thank Bio Sculpture so much for my lovely day of treats and I can not wait to take part in the manicure course which I will of course be writing about. It sounds like an incredible way for Mums at home to work around their children and not worry about childcare costs x
