The Summer weather has well and truly left us now so out come the thick knitted jumpers and boots. I also need to up my skincare routine as the cold and damp weather quickly dries it out, especially my hands that can soon become cracked and sore. I like to keep a tub of hand cream in my handbag and one in my coat pocket for when I only take Lucas’ bag out with us.
There are a few key nail trends for this Autumn Winter that I like the look of, the first being a neutral colour. I love neutral colours on nails, they are a great way to add a simple yet stylish update to any manicure. Ideal for everyday wear or sophistication for special events, neutrals are a versatile look for any occasion.
Having been very popular this Summer, gingham is here to stay. This classic print has appeared on numerous catwalks, whilst also becoming a staple trend on the high street. From simple summer dresses to statement ruffled trousers, gingham has taken over the world of fashion so why not incorporate this striking trend into your nail designs? Embrace this trend by investing in nail stencils or stamping plates, a great way to create the perfect chequered look. If you want a simpler look, you can play with using white lines or dots against a black background. If you’re a professional, there are some fab sets available from Ellisons.
Dubbed by fashion experts as the ‘Midas touch’, gold-hued nails are set to be a huge trend by the end of 2017. Perfect for holiday season, glorious gold fingertips are sure to wow during the festive period. Update your manicure with a hint of gold glitter or opt for a classic metallic gold shade to ensure you’re ready for the numerous Christmas parties, festive nights out and family get-togethers that this time of year brings.
For those wanting to be playful with the Winter season, mix cool blues with silver and white to compliment snowflake jewels x

I love nude nails and always opt for a nude colour. Every now and then I go for a deep matte red, I find that perfect for autumn.
