Las Iguanas Blackpool review

For the last couple of days we have been in Blackpool for a short break to see the illuminations and were invited to visit Las Iguanas for tea. On entering we were very impressed with the spacious layout and funky decor. After being greeted we were shown to our seats and presented with our menus whilst the waitress took our drinks order. The restaurant became busier with a great atmosphere and good music playing in the background. I loved being able to watch the chefs cooking my food from the open kitchen.

We decided to opt for cocktails and ordered a Mango Collins which consisted of Absolut Vodka, triple sec, orange, mango and lemonade. They were absolutely delicious and even better it was buy one get one free!

For starters I had Quesadilla which is pan-toasted tortillas filled and folded, inside it contained garlicky mushrooms thyme, cheese and roasted tomato salsa and they tasted divine, I could have eaten these all night.

D had Gambas, butterflied shell-on prawns cooked in a garlic, lemon & chilli sauce, served ciabatta which he described as a taste sensation. Lucas shared and seemed equally as pleased as us.

For the main course I had freshly cooked fajitas, the chicken game in a sizzling skillet with the onions a peppers with the house special mix of spices. The guacamole, grated cheese, soured cream, jalapeños and roasted tomato salsa came in individual pots accompanied by soft wheat tortillas and were amongst the best fajitas I have had the pleasure of tasting.

D had the 10oz Gaucho steak cooked medium with herb chimichurri done on the grill accompanied by Argentine-style roasted sweet corn purée & sweet potato mash. There was nothing left on the plate at the end and he raved that this was the best steak he had out and was beautifully cooked and went fantastically with the sweet potato mash and sweet corn puree.

Lucas had the crispy chicken breasts pieces coated corn crumb served with fries ketchup and salad washed down with a alcohol free mango and orange cocktail.

I would thoroughly recommend coming to Las Iguanas, the ambience and stunning food will certainly bring us back for more.
