Jewellery trends for 2019

Jewellery has been used to enhance the look of outfits for thousands of years. There’s evidence that Bronze Age people wore jewellery to special events like weddings or other ceremonies. Over the years, jewellery has become more and more popular and while fashions have changed, some designs still take inspiration from centuries ago.

If you’re a jewellery lover and are looking to add new pieces to your collection or if you want something to brighten up your day-to-day outfit, here are some of the hottest trends for 2019:

Indian inspired designs

One of the biggest trends for 2019 is Indian inspired designs and Red Dot Jewels, a specialist in Indian jewellery have a beautiful selection of pieces including rings, cuffs, earrings and necklaces. Indian jewellery is renowned for its use of high-quality metals like gold and silver which are moulded into intricate designs. These designs often feature beautiful gemstones like cubic zirconia, pearls or stones in colours like turquoise and hot pinks.

For those who are looking for something special for the festival season, a silver chain jewel encrusted headband is perfect for keeping your hair in place while you enjoy listening to your favourite band.

Links are bringing it all together

Forget about dainty chains, thicker chain links are everywhere this year. Choker style chain necklaces are very on-trend and they look stylish with any outfit, including workwear or party outfits. Link style earrings in chunky metal are also huge or for something more subtle choose a chain style ring.

Colour is making a big come back

In previous years we’ve seen a lot of plain jewellery. While this is still popular, it’s been mixed in with lots of colour from pastels through to vibrant colour palettes, so there’s something which suits every style.

Small and simple gold hoops are being replaced by large gold hoop earrings which are adorned with beautiful crystal stones or diamantes. Chandelier style earrings are popular for nights out or for dressing up a casual day look like a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

Rainbow jewellery which features designs in the colour of the rainbow will be popular throughout 2019. It’s been used in everything from headbands to drop earrings. Some designs use vibrant colours but if this isn’t your thing, you can also find rainbow jewellery in more subtle tones.

Quirky rings

Fashion has found its fun side this year and we’re seeing a lot of quirky rings. Rings which are designed in the shape of animals are very popular. So, whether you like bees, butterflies, elephants, tigers or snakes, there’s an animal shaped ring out there for you.

If you’re more of a romantic than an animal lover, you’ll be happy to hear that ‘love heart’ rings are very on-trend. These rings are made from joining a series of heart shapes together to form a circle and they are very endearing.

Whether you prefer the look of gold, silver or crystals, a beautiful piece of jewellery will make any outfit look stunning while at the same time make you feel amazing.

Ooh good to know! I don’t wear as much jewellery as I used to because of the kids, I need to start again!

I love quirky rings and have a collection at the bottom of my jewellery box – time to dig them out
