Budget-Friendly Home Makeover Ideas

Giving your home a makeover can be expensive, but don’t let this hold you back from making the changes you want to see in your living spaces. With these simple tips, you can renovate your home for less, and get the living spaces you want without having to break the bank and dip into your savings.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

Giving a room a fresh look can be easily and inexpensively achieved by simply adding a fresh coat of paint to the walls.

This doesn’t have to be a long and disruptive process either. Many major paint manufacturers have websites and apps that can use photos you upload of your room to digitally apply colours to your space. This is much better than using a sample pot or swatches to imagine how your room will look in a new shade. This cuts down on the time it takes to choose your new colour and can help save you money on using samples or repainting a colour you decide you don’t like.

Add Some Art to the Walls

If you want to brighten up your living spaces and add colour and interest quickly and easily, then you should consider buying or making some art to hang on your walls.

There are plenty of places you can go to online to find interesting and unique art for your walls, and you can even make some yourself if you are feeling crafty. The generic art that you may find in stores is often uninspiring and dull, so think outside of the box and look for something colourful and unique that will bring style and depth to your spaces.

Get Some New Furniture for Less

If you think your spaces need some new furniture, don’t fall into the trap of buying self-assembly furniture online or from outlet stores. Instead, look locally online for some bargains.

People are often selling some great furniture that is of high-quality and in excellent condition, usually online on sites like Facebook Marketplace. You can find some fantastic bargains that may be for sale just a few streets away from your home. This type of furniture is often much more attractive and hard-wearing than the furniture available from stores like Ikea, and for cheaper prices too.

Take Advantage of Deals and Coupons

A pound saved is a pound earned! By using coupons for renovation supplies and by looking for bargains and deals in special sales, you can save a small fortune on your home makeover.

The supplies you need to renovate a space, and the fixtures and fittings you need to complete your look can be very expensive. Coupons that offer just five or ten per cent off a purchase price can represent a saving of hundreds of pounds. You can save some money when doing DIY renovations by looking for coupons and special deals.

Use Plants to Add Living Colour

Plants are an inexpensive and impactful way to add colour, texture, and life to your living spaces. For just a few pounds you can make big changes to the look and feel of your rooms.

If you don’t have green fingers, or you don’t want to have to maintain and look after a living plant, there are some excellent faux plants and flowers that look just like the real thing. There is a wide variety of indoor and faux plants and flowers available too, so you will be able to find the right selection to complement your existing colour scheme.

By using just a few of these tips, I think you will be able to get the look you want in your home without having to spend thousands of pounds. These tips can save you a lot of money that you can spend on a holiday to reward yourself for all your hard work!

Facebook Marketplace is a wonderful place to check out when it comes to anything that you may need as someone else may be almost giving it away… via this marketplace. I also love hitting thrift stores and remaking older pieces. Love this post!
