It’s been ages since I have done one of these posts but we have bought Lucas some shoes and wellies over the last couple of weeks so thought it was time to link up again.
I went to get Lucas’ feet measured at Paces and Laces, Lucas was horrendous. He did not want his feet being measured and he did not want new shoes. He’s definitely like me in that he doesn’t like change. Thankfully, the lady was very patient with us and we got fitted up.
I chose some Richter navy boots as they will go with everything and should keep his feet warm and dry in winter. I adored his old trainers but the slightest bit of wet grass he went through, his feet were wet. They were also reduced from £34 to £21 so I was very happy with that.
I hid his old shoes and left the new ones lying around the living room hoping he would get used to them. He would whinge and didn’t want to get dressed until he could see the old ones. I ended up taking his new shoes to his childminders and within half an hour of him being there I was sent a photo of him with his new ones on and we haven’t gone back.
D bought Lucas some wellies from ebay, we haven’t managed to get him to keep these on yet but hopefully he will soon then we can go walking in the fields.
Lucas was given some Nike trainers for his birthday and they now fit him. Again, he’s been hard work at getting him to wear them but he has been out in them once with D when I was at work. I’m thinking maybe I should leave new shoes to other people as they get further than me.
As much as Lucas hasn’t liked getting new shoes, he loves his Uncles first shoes that my Mum keeps on her fireplace. They are red leather from Clarks and will be about 28 years old. They fit Lucas perfectly x
