Read my review of Down by the Riverside Festival.
For the last couple of years we have taken Lucas to Geronimo Festival and absolutely loved it so when we were invited* to Down By The Riverside Festival in Dolphinholme, I immediately said yes.
Down By The Riverside takes place on the 2nd June with camping and glamping available the night before if you fancy joining the party early.
On the evening of the 1st June, campers can join in with the ‘Giant spotting’, the party will be hosted by Dj Caz Matthews from FAB radio international, and as you keep your eyes peeled for the Giants to arrive from the hills, you can enjoy food, drinks & music in the VIP bar surrounded by the beauty of Bowland.
On the 2nd of June, Down By The Riverside promises a day of fun for the whole family. There will be theatre acts and workshops from various theatre groups. Plenty of live music from various solo artists and bands including pop, rock and indie.
For children wanting to explore, why not go down by the river and look out for the mermaid? Be sure to pop by between 1 and 3 to tell her your wishes and dreams.
Watch the Magic Ball Man practicing flow arts including contact juggling, hooping and poi spinning.
, a young comedy musician and magician will be performing. As well as amazing us with magic he plays the play the ukulele, banjolele, piano, electric kazoo and sings his own songs.
There will also be a beach which I can’t wait to see as not only is it a beach for the little ones to play and make sand castles, it also comes complete with colourful beach huts. There is also a life guard on duty to ensure everyone is safe if they decide to take a swim!
The Osmosis Machine
is a travelling art apparatus by UK artist Adrian Pritchard. This is your chance to create your own Osmosis Science art. By playing with gloop, you can explore its properties and create your own mini-art and try some experiments in the surroundings of the beautiful River Country Side.
Down at the Riverside Festival want to give the children somewhere great to climb and play and do what kids do best. Their play fort and climbing area will be great to entertain your children whilst you rest yourself for all the other great activities available to you. When you have finished in the fort, go and check out the hay bale maze, perfect for children and adults to explore together.
The Creation Station
will be running fun arts and crafts classes, sessions and events suitable for babies up to 11 year olds.
I have only named a few activities, there is so much to do and see, I am really looking forward to it. If you would like to buy tickets, click here for 20% discount using the code LUCAS
