Chateau de la Rochefoucauld
One of the area’s most popular and impressive chateaus is the Chateau de la Rochefoucauld. This stunning 16th-century castle boasts a beautiful Renaissance façade surrounded by gorgeous gardens and parkland. Visitors can take a guided tour of the castle’s interior, which includes a grand hall, a chapel, and several opulent living quarters.
The chateau is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Tuesday. It is usually closed in January and February. Chateau de La Mercerie
The Chateau de La Mercerie is a must-visit for those interested in history and architecture. During April, May and June, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons only, the ticket office will be open from 2.30-5 pm, and the site will close at 6 pm. The site will be open every afternoon except Saturday in July and August. Guided English visits occur every Tuesday afternoon from 2.30 pm and 4 pm until the end of October. Château de Cognac
Perfect for those interested in French history and drinking Cognac! The Château de Cognac dates back to the 10th century. An architectural masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance inspiration, Le Château de Cognac opens its doors to reveal its history and some of the secrets behind the production of its Cognacs.

Château de Villebois-Lavalette
The castle was built at the top of Puy Sanseau, culminating at almost 200m. Four successive castles have been built on this hill for a thousand years, a long period that archaeology allows us to rediscover today.
