Affinity Lancashire

Yesterday, Lucas, my Grandma and I visited* Affinity Lancashire. For those of you that are local, it is the rebranded Freeport, located in Fleetwood.

Affinity Lancashire Lucas is stood with an owl on his arm

Yesterday, today and Wednesday, 31st October, there are lots of free family fun activities going on including a trick or treat trail, where you hunt for a skeleton face in shop windows and go into those shops, saying trick or treat and they will give the children a little treat. There is also face painting (Lucas had a pumpkin), ghouls wandering around on stilts and crafts including colouring, painting and slime making! Lancashire Hawks and Owls are there, where you could have an owl sit on your arm (this cost £2 and goes to the upkeep of the hawks and owls). Lucas went back to these twice as he loved having the smaller owl on his arm and stroking its tummy, which he said was very soft and so cute. My Grandma had a barn owl on her arm, which was beautiful. There is also a play area which is there all year long.

Set on a tranquil marina, there are over 45 famous named stores offering up to 60% off every day. There are a wide range of men’s, women’s and children’s fashions and footwear plus gifts, homeware and accessories all at amazing low prices. I bought a couple of items in GAP that were 50% off and I tried on some boots in the Hotter store that were down to £60 from £140. We also treated ourselves in the Cadbury’s shop and got a few bits from The Works.

If you fancy a bite to eat or a drink, there is Subway, Costa and @Katies. We ate in @Katies which was extremely busy all day, it was a bit chaotic trying to find a table to sit down but all the staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Lucas had a children’s sandwich and my Grandma and I both had soup and a sandwich. We returned later on for coffee’s, ice cream and a scone.

If you are nearby, I would definitely recommend going for a look, even if it is just to take part in the free children’s activities, but it is such a good place to pick up some Christmas shopping too x
