I’ve been challenged to try something new with the films that I would usually go for. To be honest, I would have said yes to any type of film if it gives me an excuse to get a bit of Mummy and Daddy time. Lucas is seriously taking over at the moment so it’s lovely to be able to relax together once he finally goes to sleep. The films I usually go for are rom coms or anything like the Fast and Furious. D loves comedies. I was really happy when I was offered an inspiring collection as I think it will actually keep us both entertained.
I can’t wait to watch The Bucket List as I adore Morgan Freeman. The film follows 2 terminally ill men on a road trip with a wish list of things to do before they ‘kick the bucket’.
The Bridges of Madison County is about an Italian war bride, who lives with her husband and two children on a farm in Iowa. She meets a National Geographic photographer and has an affair with him that changes both their lives forever.
Joyful Noise follows two strong-minded women that are forced to cooperate when budget cuts threaten to shut down a small-town choir.
Cake follows Claire as she struggles to come to terms not only with the aftermath of the car accident that killed her son and left her partially disabled by chronic pain, but also with the suicide of a woman from her chronic pain support group. I’ve only seen Jennifer Aniston in comedies so I am looking forward to watching her play a different role in this.
The Blindside features an offensive lineman who played for the Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans, and currently is signed with the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. The film follows from his impoverished upbringing, through his years at Wingate Christian School, his adoption, to his position as one of the most highly coveted prospects in college football, then finally becoming a first-round pick of the Ravens. I’m a big fan of Sandra Bullock so I’m pretty sure I will love this one.
