Lucas and I, along with my friend and her daughter have signed up to take part in Bubble Rush in April. My friend and I did the Race for Life in 2016 but rather than the usual course, we did the Pretty Muddy one so I was delighted when I was shown the Bubble Run! It looks like so much fun and for a great cause. What I really like about it, is that it’s a family event that the children can take part in. It’s a fab way to introduce the little ones to taking part in events for charity and what that means.
Bubble Rush is a fun run, with a difference and throughout the course there are plenty of coloured bubbles. The 5k course starts in a sea of bubbles and features four Bubble Stations along the route where cannons pump out coloured foam to create a 4ft deep bubble bath. Every course is family friendly, so you can run, jog, walk, dance or toddle through the foam. Pushchairs and wheelchairs are more than welcome!
The events are not timed, so you’re not racing anyone, the most important thing is that you enjoy your time in the bubbles and finish with a big smile on your face!
Bubble Rush events are held around the UK from April to October and each one raises funds to support the work of local hospices.
We are taking part on 27th April in Blackburn for East Lancashire Hospice. East Lancashire Hospice cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. The hospice has a 10-bed inpatient unit, as well as a range of community services, complimentary therapies, creative and support therapies and bereavement support. They need to raise a huge £3.4 million a year to help these patients and their families so local people taking part in these events is vital for fundraising and when you think about it, it’s an easy and fun way to support them! The Blackburn course is split into 2 x 2.5km laps. So if the full 5km is too daunting or you’re not sure the kiddies will make it, then just complete one lap instead and then sit back and relax in the event village which features live music, photo booths, merchandise and fun for all the family. I honestly can’t wait for it, I think we are going to have so much fun!x
