Tree of Opals breastmilk jewellery review

PR Sample

Tree of Opals create memorial and keepsake jewellery. I found them when I was searching for somewhere to purchase a piece of jewellery using my breastmilk as I want to have something special to keep before I finish breastfeeding Lucas. I adore my handprint necklace I got for my 30th but I can’t help but think that breastmilk jewellery is extra special, there is only a certain amount of time I can get this done, I could take Lucas’ prints and scale them down to fit on jewellery no matter what age he is. If you are worried you won’t be able to produce enough milk to make one, they only ask for 15ml but can work with as little as 5ml which is about a teaspoon.

Among the breastmilk pieces there are charms, rings, necklaces and cufflinks. Nic, who is the creative mastermind behind the business offered me an item to review so I obviously jumped at the chance. I chose a charm to review and also got a ring as when you are at the checkout, you get the option to purchase another product made with your elements as a surprise piece for £25. It asks for your ring size and whether you wear earrings so they have more options.

The breastmilk charms can be encased in resin or precious metal clay. I chose resin as it means you can still see the milk. I also wanted amethyst in it as it is Lucas’ birthstone and diamond to celebrate 2 years of breastfeeding. Tree of Opals have their very own breastfeeding awards that start from trying to nurse all the way up to 8 years of nursing. There are also other awards such as supporting a partner to nurse, donating milk, exclusive pumping, twins etc.

To make it even more special to me, I decided to have a lock of Lucas’ hair in it as well. As you can imagine, that is a lot to put in a small piece of jewellery. So it wouldn’t be too busy Nic offered to crush the amethyst and use diamond powder and classic milk.

The result is just perfect, the pieces are absolutely stunning and incredible quality. The charm is now safely on my Pandora bracelet which I don’t wear daily as Lucas fiddles with it, but my ring is a firm favourite to wear every day. I take it off to bath and wash up, other than that I have been wearing it constantly.
