Ruby and Blu, Leyland review

June 27, 2017 by Jenni Leave a Comment

Ruby and Blu Children’s Art Studio is a walk in studio to take the little ones. It has a laid back and friendly atmosphere. There are comfortable seats to relax and have a drink, a bucket full of toys, table and chairs to sit and do arts and crafts as well as messy play trays for the baby’s.

I have been twice with Lucas, the first time I had booked over Facebook to specifically use the messy play trays. I met my friend and her daughter who is a couple of months older than Lucas. Lucas really didn’t like it, he was not going to get messy at all, he could barely bring himself to put his hand in the tray let alone sit and play in it. My friends daughter was in her element sitting in the trays, splashing and moving everything around her. Luckily, Lucas was happy to play with the toys and have a snack.

I went back for the second time a couple of weeks ago. I met my friend, her daughter (4) and niece (5). I wasn’t expecting Lucas to use the messy play trays but wanted to try again. This time Lucas would put his hands in the trays but I think that was more to get to the plant pots rather than wanting to explore the content.

My friend and the girls got stuck into the arts and crafts, helping themselves to everything you could possibly need from the 36 drawers of goodies. They absolutely loved it and created some lovely paintings and collages. Lucas did a bit of painting and then wandered round having a nosy at everything.

At the back of the shop there is a separate room where you can wash baby’s after messy play and get them changed. The drinks and snacks are reasonably priced and Donna that runs it is very attentive.

It’s a fab place to spend a few hours getting crafty without having to worry about having a messy house. Highly recommended x

It costs £5 per child for messy play or unlimited arts and crafts

This was written in August 2016 for another blog I no longer update, I paid for the entrance and snacks. I have had no incentive to write it.
