Colouring advent calendar, a creative way to countdown to Christmas
Who’s looking for an affordable advent calendar that doesn’t include chocolate? There’s got to be more to counting down the days to Christmas than a little chocolate each morning that takes only a few seconds before it’s gone.
Over the past few months, Lucas has really got into colouring and drawing and it’s wonderful to see how proud he is at the end of each picture. His drawing has massively improved and his colouring is getting more creative with mixing different colours together. When CreYAYtive designs got in touch about their colouring advent calendar, I thought it was a great idea. I had envisioned a physical colouring sheet or book that you buy, however, you actually buy it to digitally download which is genius.
Within the download you get PDFs so you can print them at home, and PNG image files, so you can colour them digitally. There are also 3 sizes to choose from.
Small which is 1 single A4 sheet with 24 pictures to colour, just like a traditional advent calendar. You simply find the number each day and check it off. Perfect for a super quick activity over breakfast. Why not pop it on a clipboard and hang it up for easy access each day.
Medium which consists of 6 sheets with 4 pictures per page to colour. Ideal for your bigger little ones who are great at sticking within the lines. Get creative with them, cut them up, stick them on a card to make a really cute, hand coloured Christmas card. Cut them up and create a collage on the wall, and build it up all the way to Christmas. Hang them up with a peg on a string in the hallway. Do whatever your creative brains can dream up.
Large is 24 sheets with full pages images to colour. Great for little hands, or big pens.
I love how flexible the bundle is and I think the idea of buying a download is so much better than buying a book as once you have the download, it can be printed year after year. If you’ve got more than one child, you can also print off more than one copy for each child and vary the size printed, depending on what is best for the child. You can even print off a sheet for parents and grandparents to make it a calming activity to do as a family before putting on a Christmas film.
