For D’s birthday I treated him to an iPad Air (super brownie points for that one!) so Urban Armor Gear offered to send him an iPad case* to keep it protected from the little fella. The case retails at $49.95 which is approximately £38 (at the moment).

The case features a feather-light composite construction and an impact resistant soft core to keep it protected from scratches. It has even met military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6), which means nothing to me but sounds fairly impressive. It has oversized tactile buttons and a water resistant grip material. This has proved very useful when Lucas has spilt his drink next to it! There are easy access to touchscreen and ports and a smart cover. The frogskin technology grip skin makes it excellent for Lucas to hold whilst watching KidloLand.

When I ordered the case, as impressed as I was with all this information, I did wonder whether it would be bulky to be so protective. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived, it is very slim and smart looking. It wouldn’t look out of place in a business meeting or when on a site visit so it is perfect for D at work.

I would definitely recommend Urban Armor Gear and think the price is reasonable for what you get, when you spend over £300 on a tablet, you want it thoroughly protected and that is exactly what you get with this case. They also do cases for other branded tablets and phones. The only thing I would want is more choices in colours as I wouldn’t chose black for myself, luckily it is D’s favourite colour x

  1. It’s good to know that even if it looks bulky it is actually slim. I don’t have an Ipad but if i had I would consider getting a good protective case, as I am clumsy and I would probably drop it at some point.
