John Whaite lives near and went to our school, he was very good friends with my cousin when they were in primary school. John won the third series of The Great British Bake Off in 2012. He now writes for The Telegraph, is a resident chef on Lorraine, is a presenter and judge on the daytime cookery competition show The Chopping Block and has opened his own cookery school.
Bradley Wiggins lives in the same village as us. He is a British professional road and track racing cyclist that has gained significant elite level success in both those forms of professional cycling. He is the only rider to have combined winning both World and Olympic championships on both the track and the road, as well as winning the Tour de France, and holding the iconic track hour record.
Paul McKenna is a professional English footballer having played for Preston North End and Nottingham Forest. He is a friend of D’s from school and lives in the same village as us.
Josie Cerise is an actress who I went to primary and high school with. I recently went to watch her in Be My Baby were she acted with Brooke Vincent and Ruth Madoc.
Andy Sprake is a very good friend of Josie’s, he grew up in a village next to ours and went to high school with us. He was in a successful band Failsafe that are now The Capital
Steve Walsh was our PE teacher in high school. He is an English football scout and Director of Football for Everton. He previously worked for teams including Chelsea and Leicester City, helping bring key players at Leicester to help them win the Premier League in 2016.
