Diamonds have long been known as a girls best friend, however the same can’t be said for the Earth and as we learn more about the impact that our actions are having on the Earth, alternative ways to get diamonds are increasing in popularity, along with sustainable fashion.

Sustainable diamonds Vs mined diamonds on the environment
A study comparing lab-grown and mined diamonds by consultancy Frost & Sullivan found that mining diamonds produces 4,383 times more waste than manufactured gems, uses 6.8 times as much water, and consumes 2.14 times the energy per carat produced. Lab-grown diamonds also avoid all the sulfur oxide and more than half the nitrous oxide emissions associated with mined diamonds.

What is the difference between lab grown diamonds and mined diamonds?
Carat* London is a jewellery fashion brand and principally uses high-quality hand and machine cut Cubic Zirconia crystal. They also have several alternatives to mined gemstones. They believe they represent the future of a more sustainable gemstone world. Their sister brand, Gentle Diamonds, works exclusively with lab created diamonds.
The lab grown diamonds have the same physical, atomic and elemental properties as mined diamonds. Like all diamonds
they have natures unique fingerprints and
birthmarks. Their diamonds are laser engraved by the worlds leading independent certification labs
More importantly, they are more sustainable and 100% conflict free.
