We were recently sent* a selection of beers for D to review from Beer52. Beer52 are an online beer subscription service were you can buy a one off box or a monthly subscription. The longer you sign up for the cheaper it costs, signing up monthly costs £24 which after deducting the price of the magazine and snack means each craft beer is under £2.20.
Beer52 was started by James Brown who discovered his passion for craft beer during an epic road trip from his home in Edinburgh to Faro, on the back of his dad’s Harley-Davidson. Stopping at tiny pubs and brewhouses along the way, he found beers that were not only delicious, but that he’d never heard of before.
We were sent a box of 8 craft beers, Santa Paws, Mikkeller, Littlebro, Mordue – Krampus, Wiper and True, Rouge, Fuck Art and Flower Power Hippy Dippy All Things Pretty. You also receive a snack which this month was chilli bites. Ferment magazine is included in the box which can also be bought separately for £4.99. Ferment is the UKs number 1 craft beer magazine with expert contributors and exclusive interviews.
Now I was hoping for a really in depth review of the taste of each beer from D (I think I was imagining it to be a bit like that blonde woman who used to taste the wine on the cooking show) but I didn’t get it, however I did get how good they were, saw his face light up as he was reading the names out to me and the oohh, that’s a good one Jen, ooh this one doesn’t have a label…oh yer it does, it’s called Fuck Art! He was really impressed with the selection and said he would love to sign up and would recommend it as a Christmas present. I wonder if that was a hint to me?
If you would like to try it or send a box as a gift, I have a code to give you £10 off, making a box £14. A perfect stocking filler or secret santa gift. Pop over to Beer52 and use the code CHILLING10
