Easy christmas pine cone crafts

November 19, 2021 by Jenni

There are many cute Christmas crafts that can be done with pine cones. Using pine cones will make your crafts unique, and will have your family and friends complimenting your creativity. These crafts are so easy you can even do these with your children.

pine cone basket

Pine Cone Basket

For this craft, you will need a large woven basket with or without a handle, 8-12 medium-sized pine cones, white spray paint, a large holiday bow, and glitter and holly berries are optional. First, you will need to spray paint your pine cones white. Please allow these plenty of time to dry.

If you would like to use glitter or holly berries, add glue to the tips of the pine cones and add these now. Allow additional time for this to dry. Place the pine cones in your basket. If your basket has a handle, tie your holiday bow to the handle.

If you do not have a handle, glue the bow to the front of the basket. These baskets look great next to a fireplace, used as a centrepiece on your kitchen table, or on a mantel.

Pine Cone Trees

You will need pine cones, silver (or any Christmas colour you prefer) small bowls, cups, or candlesticks for this craft. Optional items include a glitter-covered cardboard star or angel, green spray paint, and glitter. If you would like your pine cones green, spray paint them at this time and allow them to dry.

Add glue to tips of pine cones and sprinkle with glitter, also allowing to dry. Place pine cones upright in your small bowls, cups, or candlesticks. Top with a glitter-covered cardboard star or angel. These tiny trees look beautiful on your table or shelves.

Pine Cone Christmas Door Hangers

Supplies for this craft include pine cones, mixed spices, a Christmas plaid bow, and spray paint is optional. If you would like to spray paint these, do so first. The door hangers look nice in their original colour, silver, or gold.

Once these are dry, if you painted them, then add glue to the tips of the pine cone and sprinkle with mixed spices. Give a gentle shake to remove excess spice and allow to dry. Add a Christmas plaid bow to the top to hang it on your door. These door hangers are not only festive but smell great too!

Pine Cone Ornaments

You will need pine cones and glitter for this craft. There are more optional supplies you can use, such as spray paint, gems, beads, holly berries, or ribbons. These ornaments can be original colours or spray-painted a colour of your choice.

Add glue to the tips of the pine cones and sprinkle with glitter. Use can also use your additional supplies at this time as well. Be sure to shake off excess glitter, and then allow time to try.

The pine cones should be light enough to sit on the Christmas tree branches or you may add ribbon to hang on tree branches. These homemade ornaments will make your Christmas tree look fabulous.
