Mac in a Sac recently sent* Lucas some waterproof overtrousers and a waterproof jacket to review. I think everyone must have heard of Mac in a Sac by now as they have been around since 1987, creating waterproof clothing, that can be easily carried in its own handy little bag for when it is needed. What I didn’t realise was the extent of their range. They have an abundance of jackets, coats, rainsuits and over trousers for men, women and children in an array of colours and designs. They also truly believe in what the are creating as they offer a 2 year guarantee on all of their clothing.
I chose a neon blue jacket in size 2-4 years, £21.99. As it is waterproof and breathable with a water repellent zip as well as elasticated cuffs, a back vent and reflective logos on the front and back it is perfect for when we are caught out by the rain whilst out and for our early morning walks. It also has a fold away hood with adjustable elastic and toggle. I love the bright colour, perfect for every season. It is too big for Lucas but he has only just started wearing 18-24 month tops so I expected it to be, it will be perfect next summer and as we know, living in the UK, a waterproof is a must have item all year long.
I chose the mini origin overtrousers in black, £14.99. You can get origin jackets to match but I couldn’t resist the neon jacket. The trousers are waterproof and breathable with waterproof taped seams, an elasticated waistband, adjustable tab on the leg and reflective printed logo on the back. Again, as I got size 2-4 years, they are on the big side as Lucas has just gone in to 12-18 month trousers. However, it didn’t impact on his walking at all, the trousers easily roll up to make them the correct length for him and the elasticated waist meant they didn’t fall down. He will definitely be getting a lot of use out of these this winter. I don’t want Lucas to be stuck indoors when the weather isn’t at its kindest, I want him to explore and with these to pop over his normal clothes that’s exactly what he can do.
As Sir Ranulph Fiennes once said….There’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing

What a great idea! Sometimes you can go out and the weather can turn from out of nowhere so this would be a great thing to have with you!

I love these! We used to call them pac-a-macs, I guess these are the same things! We love getting out and about and if the kids can stay clean and dry, that’s always a bonus!
