D and I are currently in the process of looking for furniture for our new house. That’s a little bit of an understatement, before we get around to the furniture, D is renovating the house in France first. As we sold all our furniture before moving to France, we are starting from scratch.
We both like the industrial look with furniture and I adore dark wood so when Vasagle asked if I would like to review one of their products, I was very impressed with the look of it! Vasagle is an industrial-style home furniture sub-brand from Songmics. They have pieces of furniture for the whole home, including the entryway, living room, bedroom, home office, kitchen and office.
I opted for the Vasagle shoe bench as it looks so versatile. The space-saving shelf is not only suitable for small entrance areas, but it can also offer additional storage space in the living room or garage, perhaps it can even be used as a clever addition to a walk-in closet! If you used it as a shoe bench, it can fit up to 6 pairs of shoes on the two mesh shelves; on the surface, you can comfortably place your handbag and school bag to grab in the morning as you leave. With a load capacity of up to 90 kg, this unit is also perfect as a bench seat, so putting on your shoes doesn’t become a balancing act.
It arrived flat pack and D quickly put it together although the last screw to go in struggled as it isn’t lined up properly. However, this hasn’t made any impact on the bench. It is very secure, and sturdy and looks a lot more expensive than it is.
The dark wood on top has a beautiful rustic finish. The corners are all rounded off and the stand is curved rather than straight edges. The specially designed plastic feet are also extremely robust and protect your floor from scratches. I am really impressed with the bench and will definitely be looking at buying some more pieces from the range.
