We are bringing Lucas up to play with what he likes, rather than having the stereotypical boy’s toys for him. He likes watching Strawberry Shortcake (although I’m pretty sure that is just because it has the brightest colours ever throughout it) and one of his favourite toys is his  Upsy Daisy doll (my brothers face was a picture when he saw that!).

So as well as the ‘boy’ super heroes, I will happily be introducing him to girl super heroes such as Super Girl and Poison Ivy from DC Entertainment’s latest animated series. It features a dynamic group of Super Heroes on their journey of discovering the power of their unique abilities and friendships. What I love is how dynamic the characters are, from strong and fearless to edgy and fun.

The DC Super Hero Girls YouTube channel makes it easy to watch the characters, on-demand, and from any device. The DC Super Hero Girls website has free downloadable activities and games to play online.

When I was young, my first crush was on Wonder Woman / Lynda Carter. I think it was all that spinning.

This is interesting. My daughter watches loads of youtube videos, but I don’t think she’s heard of DC Super Hero girls. Will tell her about it 🙂

I like that they are using female superheros and it is important to diversify the superhero universe.

I am glad to see an end to gender stereotyping with toys, children should be children regardless of what they play with x
