We were recently sent* some bottles of Lifeway Kefir to review.

If, like me, you haven’t heard of Kefir, it is a live and active cultured milk smoothie.
It is high in protein (100ml of Lifeway Kefir contains 3.2g of natural protein), calcium (one serving of Lifeway Kefir provides 30% of your daily calcium needs), potassium and vitamin D. It can aid digestion and increase immunity. Kefir also contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which is a popular ingredient in skin care products. If all of that, isn’t enough of a reason to try it, Lifeway Kefir also contains tryptophan, the amino acid that helps raise the levels of serotonin in your brain. Serotonin is used to transmit messages between nerve cells, it is thought to be active in constricting smooth muscles, and it contributes to wellbeing and happiness, among other things.

Lifeway Kefir contains absolutely no preservatives or artificial additives. It is naturally gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.
So…what did we think about the drinks? We weren’t too keen on the original flavour but we loved the blueberry, mango and strawberry. The mango was incredible and most definitely my favourite and Lucas’ favourite was strawberry. He keeps asking me when we are getting more so we are making a trip to Booths next week to stock up!
They are a great way to get some nutrients and boost your’s and your children’s healthy lifestyle.

The drinks have a creamy consistency somewhere between milk and yoghurt. They have a tangy taste to them which goes really well with the sweetness of blueberry, mango and strawberry.

The Lifeway Kefir drinks are available from Booths stores and the lovely people over at Lifeway have offered to giveaway 8 bottles, 2 of each flavour to one lucky reader. If you would like the chance to try them, enter below x
