Lucas was recently sent a Baby Annabell Interactive Brother Doll* from Zapf Creation to review. He comes with a romper suit, hat, bib, bottle, dummy and fabric necklace with amulet.The doll is aimed at children from 3 years so Lucas is a little young. Lucas really liked him the first time he saw him, going over and giving him a cuddle whilst saying ‘aaahhhhh’ and stroking his head. However, he is quite heavy and once he tried picking him up to walk away with him he struggled so I think it would have been better if we had waited until he is a little older, being stronger to carry him. Lucas enjoyed putting the dummy in the dolls mouth and also tried it himself. He also tried sharing his own cup with him.
I think the brother doll is fab. He closes his eyes when you rock him to sleep, he opens and closes his eyes whilst his mouth moves to suck his bottle or dummy. He drinks real water from his bottle. He makes realistic babbling, sucking, laughing, crying, snoring and burping sounds. He even cries real tears when he’s upset and makes movements.
The baby brother doll is a great toy for boys and girls but I would suggest waiting until they are 2 or 3 years old just because of the weight of him. He is perfect for realistic, imaginative role play and encourages the development of responsibility and empathy.
