Did you know that the ensuite bathroom was originally supposed to be a small utility room that adjoined the master bedroom to the rest of the house? We no longer use bathrooms just for washing our clothes, we are using them for everything else. Ensuites are seen as the height of luxury if you have one in your home. It means you have arrived; it means that you are taking the time to build your home to look more like a hotel. That can be one of the biggest benefits of your home.
If you are considering an ensuite bathroom for your house, then you need to think about the benefits of having one, and how you can decorate one to look exactly as you please. Tiling a wet room doesn’t have to be a massive job, and if you already have an ensuite and you’re just looking to upgrade it, then tiling the room to make it just one big wet room is going to make a significant difference and it’s not going to slam the budget. We’ve got some great reasons you should go ahead and get an ensuite bathroom built into your home.
- You can completely change your bathing experience. When you have an extra bathroom tacked onto your bedroom that is tiled from top to toe and it’s purely a wet room, you’re going to improve your experience of bathing. Being able to switch between a bath at an overhead shower can also give you the best of both worlds, but most wet rooms happen to have just one shower and no actual bath. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a bath in your ensuite. Instead, you can have a bath and a separate cubicle shower and really go for the epitome of luxury.
- Create that spa feel. You can create a spa luxury feeling when you have an ensuite bathroom in your home. An additional bathroom is going to make a significant difference to how you feel about your bedroom, and while you can add beautiful new towels and high-end accessories, consider using stone as one of your surfaces so that you can have a style foundation to build on.
- You get some privacy. You might already have a family bathroom in your home, but this is a bathroom that is solely just for your use. Giving yourself that privacy allows you to have your things in your space without feeling overcrowded.
- You can make the whole house feel bigger just by having a smaller bathroom. This room is a small room of the home, and you can make it feel as light and roomy as possible by ensuring you are using lighting in the right way. When you add mirrors and extra lighting you can create the illusion of space that you’re looking for.
- Another thing to consider is storage. Having eye-level storage and high shelving can help your bathroom to feel bigger on the bottom of the room. Plus, if you have a tiled room for a wet room you may need to think about keeping your things up and out of the way, so they don’t get soaked.
- You will increase the value of your home. When you have an ensuite bathroom, it’s a wonderful way to add some extra value to your home and make sure that when you go to sell it, it will sell for a higher amount than you ever thought possible.
