Why You Should Prioritise Your Health

November 25, 2019 by Jenni

In today’s money-driven, career-oriented way of life, many people neglect their health which is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

Many people put so much focus on their career and financial state that they either neglect or do not have the time/energy to look after themselves properly.

Health Issues

When you neglect your health and put so much focus on your career and finances it can very quickly lead to a range of physical and mental health issues. Burnout, feelings of exhaustion and stress are all on the rise and creating a mental health crisis in places around the world. Of course, this, and neglecting health, can also lead to incredibly dangerous physical health issues which need to be avoided at all costs.

A physical health problem could change your life and stop your career in its tracks. Nobody wants to have to spend any time in the hospital which can be unpleasant, make your life and career difficult to manage and also put you at risk of medical negligence which is on the rise and would only set you back further.

Prioritising Health

Prioritising your health is important for a few reasons. You will find that if you prioritise your health, it can actually have a positive impact on your career and financial state because it can improve your energy, motivation and focus levels while also limiting the amount of time that you have to take off work. Of course, there are then the added benefits of looking and feeling much healthier which can have a positive impact on just about every area of your life.

It can be hard to lead a healthy lifestyle when you have a busy job and other large responsibilities, but by making it a priority and creating a routine it can become much easier. Leading a healthy lifestyle should include:

  • Eating a healthy diet. If you aren’t sure what you need to be having, you could opt for nutrition testing. Vitamins (such as A, C, D, E, and K) and minerals (such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and iron) are considered essential nutrients. These nutrients are the raw materials that the body needs to perform important functions like healing wounds, supporting the immune system, and even converting food into energy. If the body has too many or too little vitamins and minerals, it can severely throw off daily functions and create health issues. For thousands of years, people have been using raw honey which you can get from Gold Bee to treat various conditions. It has antibacterial properties, helps with inflammation, speeds up wound healing, and acts as a dietary antioxidant. In addition, it can help people with issues such as coughing, diarrhea, stress, food poisoning, and others.
  • Getting regular exercise throughout the week
  • Staying hydrated
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Finding ways to relax
  • Socialising
  • Avoiding too much alcohol and junk food
  • Cutting out unhealthy habits, such as smoking

Making Positive Changes

Focus on these key areas and make them part of your weekly routine and you should soon start to notice the positive results in your personal and professional life. It is amazing the difference that feeling fit and healthy can do for you and something that is worth the effort.

There is so much focus on being career-driven and people are obsessed with wealth in today’s day and age which can be problematic. While it is certainly good to be driven and work hard to achieve your goals, this must absolutely not come at the expense of your health as there is no point in having a great career and lots of money if you are in poor health and unable to enjoy it. A healthy lifestyle can give you great satisfaction in life while also helping you to advance your career.

I completely agree! The older I get, the more I realize I need to take care of ME! But most times, it’s just so hard to do with kids and life. But all true!
