Tesco Healthy Living Range

March 3, 2016 by Jenni

As part of the Orchard programme at Tesco, I received a voucher to use on any of the Tesco Healthy Living range.

I had purchased sandwiches from the healthy living range previously for lunch at work and knew there were other products but I didn’t realise just how many products are in the range. They seem to have covered everything from sandwiches, snack bars and quiches to thai curry, butternut squash risotto and chicken, prawn and chorizo paella.

They have fresh, frozen, snacks and sauces within the range and none of them seemed to be over priced which I find some brands add money on to products aimed at people trying to either eat healthier or lose weight.

I decided to try Healthy Living Wholegrain Fusillil Spinach And Cheese Sauce from the frozen  range, mainly because I wasn’t in the mood to prepare anything when I got home so I knew we could just pop this in a pan and garlic bread in the oven. I was also curious about cooking pasta from frozen, I don’t know why as I’ll eat lasagne cooked from frozen but this seemed different to me somehow (reading my thoughts back here, I must have been sleep deprived!).

The pack contains enough for two portions and costs £2 and there was plenty in it for two decent sized meals. You can either microwave or stir fry the pasta. D stir fried it which was easy to do as you literally pour in the contents from the pack. It took longer to cook than the instructions state but that could have been the heat of our pan and it didn’t take any longer than it would have done to cook dried pasta shells.

I was very impressed with the pasta, I wouldn’t have known that it had been cooked from frozen. The ingredients tasted as if they had been cooked from fresh, even the juicy tomatoes, the spinach and cheese sauce were a delicious combination. I would highly recommend it if you want something quick and easy but also staying healthy x

I was given a voucher through The Orchard programme to try a meal but I wasn’t required to write this review
