Birkacre garden centre restaurant, Coppull review

A couple of weeks ago my Grandma, Lucas and I went to Birkacre garden centre and had dinner in the cafe there.

I ordered the cheese quiche but unfortunately it wasn’t going to be ready until after 1 and we were there at 12. We were also told that there were no jacket potatoes on the Birkacre garden centre menu that day either. I opted for the chicken tikka masala. My Grandma had fish and chips. Lucas had the chicken nuggets from the children’s menu.

To be honest, I was disappointed. The chicken curry had very little flavour and no spice at all. Lucas’ chicken nuggets looked processed rather than the whole chicken breast nuggets that he would usually have.

The restaurant was also really cold, many people including my Grandma ate with their coats on.

We returned yesterday and ordered the mini breakfast that is on offer during January for £3.50. It consisted of a slice of toast, hash brown, sausage, bacon, egg and beans. You could also choose tea or coffee with it; they let Lucas choose a juice from the fridge, which I liked. The usual cost of a mini breakfast is £4.50, which I think is really reasonable considering you get a drink with it too.

Again the restaurant was quite cold with my Grandma eating with her coat on, although I do think it was slightly warmer than last time. The food was nice, but unfortunately, it took 30 minutes for it to be served to us so we had already finished our drinks and ordered more for the breakfast.

I have heard really good reviews about this restaurant and have previously enjoyed the food there, but the last couple of times have been disappointing x
