Shirts that don’t show sweat

August 18, 2022 by Jenni

With warmer weather upon us, we’ve got your back if you’re prone to sweating profusely under your arms. Our goal here is to provide some tips to help you combat this problem so you can enjoy the heat without concern. Every sweaty individual deserves that! First and foremost, if you’re someone who sweats excessively and have never heard about some of the shirts that don’t show sweat then you are missing out big time! People usually think about roll antiperspirants first, but as you may know, that doesn’t always do the trick.

How Sweat Proof Shirts Work

You may be asking yourself, how do they work? The most popular brand out there for sweat-proof clothing is Social Citizen. The t-shirts and undershirts made by them feature underarm sweat pads. The underarm pads absorb and stop sweat from reaching the other side of the shirt. This is the ultimate solution for people who sweat a lot from their armpits.

Some Other Options

Clinical Strength Antiperspirant

If you visit a local pharmacy, you can find antiperspirants that claim to be able to stop sweat better than others. They’re usually labelled as “clinical strength” and may help you. A pro tip is to apply it at night before going to sleep, rather than right before you head out for the day.

Exercise in cold indoor rooms during the summer

Working out all the time? Give yourself a break on the hottest days of the summer and do your workout inside. This will keep your body temperature lower than if you just ran a few miles outside in the sun.

Drink Plenty of Water

Perspiration means water is leaving your body at a quick rate. Replenish and consider carrying a water bottle with you as a reminder to hydrate throughout the entire day.

Take regular showers or baths

Excessive sweating can mean irritated skin, acne and other unfortunate realities. Washing your face and body with a good cleanser can keep away rashes and pimples. If you’re someone who gets sweaty hands, avoid touching your face until they’re cleaned!

Avoid Skin-Tight Clothing

If you don’t want to go the sweatproof clothing route and you care about how much your sweat shows, it’s recommended to avoid tight clothes. Your sweat will show through, especially on the hottest day of the year. This could lead to anxiety, which is what we’re trying to reduce on a hot summer day in the sweaty world.

People who sweat excessively may have hyperhidrosis, a medical condition. Stress, anxiety, medication and genetics are only some of the reasons someone may develop hyperhidrosis.

We need to sweat as human beings. For those of us who sweat more than others, we do everything we can to not let it impact our lives and our happiness. If you fit in this category, we hope this advice helps you!
