The Great Barrier Reef, Queensland
The Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the world, is the largest coral reef system in the world! Trust me when I say you will be in awe of the sheer beauty of this incredible reef.
Scuba diving or snorkelling is a must to see the underwater wonderland of the Great Barrier Reef and witness the array of fish and marine life.
To kick off your Great Barrier Reef exploration, make your way north to Cairns, the gateway to this natural masterpiece. Consider basing yourself in the charming town of Port Douglas, where you can seamlessly blend relaxation with exploration. Plenty of day tours in Port Douglas offer a unique opportunity to venture out and discover the reef through snorkelling or scuba diving.

Fun fact! The Daintree Rainforest is over 135 million years old, making it the oldest rainforest in the world.

Whilst you’re in Port Douglas visiting the Great Barrier Reef, take a day trip to check out the natural beauty.
I recommend you take a cruise on the Daintree River, north of Port Douglas, for an intimate rainforest experience. Keep your eyes peeled for saltwater crocodiles amongst the river banks. Spotting crocodiles in a small riverboat is exciting and terrifying, speaking from my experience, at least!
If you are more of a hiking enthusiast, the rainforest is a wilderness experience you can’t miss. From easy to difficult trails, there are options for every hiker.

Ok we’re not quite done with The Great Barrier Reef yet!

When people think of Syndey, they often picture the Syndey Opera House on Syndey Harbour’s foreshore. And for a good reason: the architectural brilliance and unparalleled construction are engineering achievements to be recognised.

Walk along the water at Circular Quay, taking in the gorgeous Sydney and getting close to the Sydney Opera House.
