The best beach destinations in Spain

Visiting Hawaii with children

A holiday can rejuvenate us. Very often, a trip away enables deep relaxation – especially if it involves a beach. This isn’t just because the sea is nice to behold. Research has revealed that large water sites can improve our emotional wellbeing. That’s all the more reason to book a beach holiday.

Is there anywhere better for this than Spain? The Mediterranean gem boasts a number of splendid shorelines. Thanks to specialists like Villa Plus, it hosts high-quality lodgings for travellers. Hiring a car in Spain makes it easy for you to explore the area too. Before you move onto the beaches, if you are thinking of an active holiday too, maybe split your time between a beach and hike. The Picos de Europa National Park looks absolutely beautiful. It is the very first National Park in Spain, created in 1918. It’s made of rivers, mountains & alpine lakes, full of wild animals. If you want to go on a Spanish adventure, then it’s wise to look into lockers Plaza de Catalunya, so you can drop your bags off first.

Which Spanish beaches are the best?

To identify the right one for you, read on.

Costa Brava

Costa Brava is home to an array of coastlines, from coves to urban beaches. That’s why it’s an ideal destination for those who love variety.

If you prefer to mix it up, why not stay here? It offers a range of choice, especially when it comes to beaches.

It’s secluded coves provide space for privacy. Alternatively, its livelier coastal areas offer an opportunity to meet the locals as well as other tourists.

Menorca

It’s often overshadowed by its neighbours, but this island, and its beaches are glorious. Several are tucked away too.

Turqueta cove is one of its hidden gems. It’s visitors don’t just get a good view, can bask in sun and solitude too.

If you seek alone time in a holiday, you could certainly find it here. Macerella beach can provide a similar experience.

You’re likely to fall in love with almost any beach in Menorca, though. Each deliver some of the best views in Europe.

It’s beaches alone make the Balearic island an excellent holiday spot.

Lanzarote

Long white beaches. Swaying palm trees. Clear ocean water. The canary island is popular for a reason: its beauty.

This is largely down to it’s beaches. For an idyllic seaside venture, you need look no further. It’s easy to unwind in Lanzarote.

Better still, people often spend entire days on its vast beaches without getting in anyone’s way. If you like to pass lots of time by the sea, you can, for as long as you like.

If you plan to travel with your children, you could plan daily activities on the beach, all you’ll need is enough food and some fun games. I remember these types of holiday when I was younger with my parents. We used to visit the Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura in the February half terms as they are perfect for Winter sun.

Spacious or small, any of Lanzarote’s shorelines can be enjoyed by any visitor, whether they’re in a group or travelling solo.

Most people can benefit from a holiday, or even just a trip to the seaside. With a beach holiday, you’ll be able to achieve both. If you’d like to see more ideas for a beach holiday in Spain, check out some of the popular Spain tours on offer.
