A couple of days ago, I took the leap to become an Usborne books ambassador and I can’t tell you how excited I am about it. Please do check out my webshop here and if you need any help with book suggestions, don’t hesitate to message me on my Facebook or Instagram accounts.

Usborne is the UK’s leading specialist children’s book publisher: an independent, family business which creates engaging, innovative, accessible books for children of all ages. Being an Usborne organiser is a great way for mums to work from home.

They also have puzzle books, key skills learning books, card games and jigsaws.

Usborne books are available around the world, both in English and in over 130 different languages. They publish Usborne books under their own name in French, German, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Catalan and Chinese. For other languages, they license their books to local publishers who translate and publish them under their name.

It costs just £48 to join with no additional subscriptions or renewal fees required. For this fee, I received a pack of books worth nearly £200 to get me started with either selling these as stock or using them for examples to show in Mum’s groups or local markets etc. When I sell any books, I earn 24% commission so I am hoping it will be a nice way to earn some extra money from home without any targets to hit.

I love reading and I really want to encourage Lucas to read. To show him that there is something special about relaxing in a reading corner and escaping into a story. Developing a passion for reading early can help to steer children away from the mental health challenges of excessive social media consumption towards a happier, more fulfilled childhood. Reading can have a direct impact on a child’s ability to learn effectively, study optimally and pass exams.

To celebrate, I thought I would run a giveaway…

  2. Not sure if these are posting.
Lovely set of books, always had a bookcase throughout my childhood full of books.

    • What a gorgeous prize! My Son, Charlie, is the perfect age for these right now. He tries to read the words in his bed time stories but books specifically designed for his needs would be great. Good luck everybody.

  3. This would be lovely for my nephew, it is his first birthday next month, this would be great to give him.

  4. This would be so lovely for my granddaughter.I want to encourage her to have the same love of reading I have and maybe soon I will be able to read the books to her myself soon.

  5. I remember the magic of the reading corner at school, with the bookcase, and blue mats with big purple cushions to sit on. I asked my mum for a reading corner for Christmas and I got my very own book corner complete with bookcase. It’s now in my kids play room with big cushions on the floor I love reading books to my children and they love it too.

  6. This is such a fantastic and exciting giveaway!! My son loves books and would love so many of these. I try to read to him as often as I can, but with a newborn baby it’s not so easy to do right now. These would be lovely for us both to spend some time together and read together 🙂

  7. This would be a wonderful prize for my grandchildren thanks for the chance to win and also for your wonderful blog which is a pleasure to read 🙂

  8. This seems perfect for my daughter, would be lovely to have these kind of books for my daughter to read to me whilst we are on lockdown. At the moment she has to read on the screen and I think she finds this hard.

  9. Such a lovely set of books. I would love them for my daughter who is just starting to learn to read.x

  10. What a lovely selection of book, it is important to read to your children from a very early age

  11. What a brilliant prize, I love reading too and hope that my children will as well. This would be a great start to their reading journeys.

  12. wonderful prize these would help with homeschooling, and by the time they return to school they should be quite proficient

  13. Lil Peewee has recently discovered books and is ploughing through them at a great rate even with the many, many rereads

  14. These books would be perfect for my middle niece. She’s just getting to grips with reading and really enjoys practicing.

  15. This is a great prize. I’d love it for Leo. Daisy who is now 9 would read all day long if you let her, she practically eats books! Leo aged 4 on the other hand only reads comics. He likes to listen to a story at bedtime but otherwie isn’t too interested in sitting down with an actual book. I’d hope that this set might change his mind.

  16. My son is in reception and so this would be perfect for his reading journey. I’m huge fan of usborne books.

  17. Growing up with voracious readers for parents, it is no wonder I’m known to read (practically) anything and everything. Learning to read and being encouraged to read at a young age, I think, opens up not only a variety of opportunities but whole new worlds to explore.

I’d love my nieces to ‘follow in my footsteps’ – one ‘addiction’ I’m more than happy to encourage them in!

  18. This is such a lovely set of books. Perfect for when our Nieces and Nephews stay over.

  19. This would be perfect for my 5 year old – we’re still homeschooling even though she is going into school 4 hours a day.

  20. This looks like a great selection. I think early sharing of stories and reading books is incredibly important.

  21. My friend’s son is just at the right age for this set. It would be a lovely surprise for him!
